Have you found yourself addicted to something at some point of time and later found out that you are now weaned completely?:)
For me, Cable TV was one such addiction to which I was so addicted to while I was growing up.
I was told that Americans love TV, but America changed me:P
Their soaps and sitcoms are much more advanced, logical and humorous than the saas-bahu sagas in our Country. In fact, even Indians in India go ga ga over “Sex and the City”, “Desperate Housewives” and so on and so forth!
When it comes to Indian TV, apart from the Musical Shows the only sitcoms/soaps that can get me glued are Detective serials..and programs from ‘Days of Yore’:)
Even after 10 years, the sight of these serials, ’Akbar Birbal’, ‘Panchatantra’,'Mahabharat’, ‘Malgudi Days,’Fauji’ makes me elated just like a teenager would!
The recent ‘marvel’ I experienced, was when I found the college soap ‘Hip Hip Hurray’, here
The serial may not be “great” according to standards of many people. But, just watching it takes me back into time. The time
-
When I would happily go home every single day and narrate all that happened in college to my sister.
-
When competitions were healthy.
-
Where teachers were an inspiration.
-
When receiving scoldings was not considered as ‘being looked down upon’ or ‘challenge to self-esteem’
-
When you could crib happily without being labeled as a ‘whiner’
-
When crushes were common
-
When you could mess up chemistry lab experiments, and get away with it
-
Even when you set the lab on fire, your friends would still support you.
-
When you would fight with your friends but bitching was ‘out’
The times when life was like a “merry go round ride’, you move on but found that you came back home each time. And your friends and family where they were always there. Waving at you:)
ta na na, na na na na.. swamyyyyyy
blog look zhakaas aahe
Those were the days…. how much we used to argue with our friends, but still the friendship only grew stronger.
Yeah I miss those days, when u never had much choice over TV, the only Channel was DD1, and after some time DD2 as well. Miss serials : Byomkesh Bakshi: I think this is the best detective serial in the history of Indian Televison, Hum Log, Ye jo hai Zindagi, spiderman in the venings, He-Man on Sunday mornings, Chitrahar and Rangoli!!
I actually went back to those days!
